Loving this EP. My personal favorite: “Playing you game, baby”.
Aww, I think I just died of cuteness attack!
If I ever have kids, they will be walking catalogs of JM, Beatles and U2. Just like me!

Young John Mayer fan! huahuahuahuahuahauhua
That´s the sweetest thing I´ve ever seen !!!!

So cute !!!!!!
Simple truthI feel like anybody who is against the building of an Islamic cultural center near Ground Zero isn’t contesting that they’re being intolerant, rather they’re arguing (however spuriously) that they’re being justifiably intolerant. It reminds me of another specious debate, “is waterboarding…
I am currently in Madagascar. A beautiful island the size of California, in the Indian Ocean.
Beautiful indeed. But very poor. Reminds me a lot of home: barefoot kids slaloming through traffic and playing in dirty water is so ordinary nobody pays attention.
On the other side, BMWs and Mercedes SUVs are common too.
It just wrecks my heart to see this “very high VS very low” pattern become such a cliché all throughout the continent.
The thing that bugs me the most is the fact that Madagascar, like my own country is naturally rich: mineral ressources, very warm people, beautiful weather, endless touristic possibilities…
Makes me wonder if Africa will ever stand up and move forward. And doubt.
But then again, i am a senegalese young woman, wandering in the streets of Antannarivo listening to John Mayer, Jimi Hendrix and Norman Brown and i was still able to make that very old lady at the market smile beacause of the way i was pronouncing words.
Makes me thing that ANYTHING is possible. And hope.
I believe that the BP oil spill could have even bigger ramifications on our country than we already realize.
If this disaster exits the public consciousess without there being a 1:1 ratio of fault to accountability, then we as a nation will have demonstrated to our government (and the…
“Just a thought” could also apply to:
- Human rights violations happening all around the world.
- Malaria or any other disease still killing thousands of people and that could be cured if we tried a little harder or if they were “bankable” diseases for the pharmaceutic industry (kids are still dying from diarrhea in Senegal, my country)
- Third-world countries like mine being lead by presidents who became masters at the art of distracting their people from the really important matters.
All right… This is me agreeing with this very famous guitar player that is “over Twitter”. 140 characters is short for people to get who you are. Specially for me… I live geographically very far from the people i was following/were following me which was both a gift and a curse.
So i’ll give Tumblr a try. Let’s see what it has to give…
Oh sorry, I was about to forget my manners: my name is Awa, i am a 25-year-old senegalese (Senegal is a west-african, french speaking country) music lover.
Nice to meet y’all… :-)
